“ ..consistently a couple steps ahead of your average early adopter” - Resident Advisor

World renowned DJs who aren’t -also- recording artists, are a rare thing. A lot of them can be found in the UK – Kutmah, Oneman, Gilles Peterson – though the old continent can also lay claim to a few, including one of the most intriguing, and loveable characters in modern electronic music, Belgium’s own LEFTO.

The public voice of hip hop in his country since 1999, for the past decade he’s helmed a weekly radio show on Studio Brussels, thrown up 250+ on Vimeo/Youtube documenting scenes, clubs, crowds of all shapes and sizes as he travels around the planet playing music. Both of which have become platforms that have played a huge role in turning the quiet hip hop & beats enthusiast into one of the worlds most respected DJ’s.

Famed for his gloriously eclectic sets, he switches effortlessly between hip hop, funk, breaks, neck-snapping beats, future bass, South-American influences, bruk riddims and some wild African rhythms.

As one the most important tastemakers Europe has to offer, and affiliated with labels Brownwood to Stones Throw, this bearded early riser is consistently a couple steps ahead of your average early adopter.

His passion for jazz resulted in a remix album for Blue Note, and whilst brimming with futuristic angles, his radio shows and DJ bag are firmly rooted in jazz and hip hop, he sharpened his digging sensibility working at the now legendary Music Mania record store in hometown Brussels.

LeFtO is your favourite DJ’s, favourite DJ. Regularly blessing sound systems from Tokyo to Seoul and Singapore to New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles. He has been a resident deejay for Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Festivals since 2008 around the world.

Forget everything you know. LeFtO :))
