Kerry Harmanis

Kerry was born in Adelaide, grew up in Darwin, and attended high school in Sydney and Perth. After obtaining a law degree at UWA he qualified as a lawyer, following which he took off backpacking overseas for some years. On his return to Australia he practised as a lawyer for four years, before embarking on a drastic career change selling fish from a van at Leighton Beach, whilst establishing himself as a prospector and gold producer in the WA goldfields and overseas. This led to the establishment of Jubilee Mines NL, a very successful nickel exploration and mining company, where he was the Executive Chairman and major shareholder until its sale in 2008, on the eve of the GFC.

Kerry has a committed spiritual life of daily prayer, meditation and Tai Chi. He is a committed philanthropist, believing that giving is a large part of life.
