"Modern Day Tribe Part 1: Performance" provides a unique insight into Perth’s rave and dance culture scene.

Edith Cowan University Photomedia lecturer Duncan Barnes’ exhibition is a preview of work that makes up part of his ongoing PhD studies.

Opening: Wednesday, October 7th at 6.00 - 8:00pm
Exhibition runs October 8th - 16th.

The exhibition is a photographic journey looking at the commodification of rave culture as it transformed from an underground scene to become a part of todays mainstream youth cultural consumption in the form of corporate electronic dance festivals.

On display is a visual archive of live dance images and contemporary urban landscapes that were once sites of rave and dance culture. From intimate warehouse spaces through to supersized corporate events Duncan’s images span a 15-year period as a photographer for major promoters and record labels.

Open hours:
Tues - Fri 10:00am - 5:00pm
Saturday 12:00 - 5:00pm
Closed Mondays and Sundays
