After selling out in 2016, Pint of Science returns to Perth for 3 nights, across 2 of your favourite pubs! Quench your knowledge and thirst by coming along and hearing about inspiring, fun research from local scientists... and if that’s not enough, there will be plenty of games, prizes, and of course, beer.

Mon 15th - SPACE BAR

David Gozzard will blow your mind as he talks about the world’s most powerful radio telescope, which will peer to the edge of the universe.

Dr Claudia Lagos shows us how computers are being used to run simulations of our entire universe and its evolution!


Tues 16th - IT’S ALL IN YOUR HEAD

Dr Clare Sutherland explains the science behind first impressions. Why do we make facial first impressions, what are the consequences of them... and how accurate are they anyway?

Dr Jason Bell examines the ways we can use visual attention to help reveal risk and maintenance factors for illnesses, such as eating disorders and obesity!


Wed 17th - BIO ZONE

Dr Lizzy Lowe explores the wonderful world of creepy crawlies in our back yards – spiders! After learning about their charming personalities and sneaky survival strategies - you’ll never be able to look at a spider in the same way.

Sarah Marley is an expert on the commotion of the ocean! Hear about the underwater sounds in our oceans and how these affect our costal dolphins.
