The FAIR GO FOR ASYLUM SEEKERS APPEAL presents comedian and writer SAMI SHAH as part of the 2015 Fremantle Festival!

Sami has been profiled in the New York Times and ABCs Australian Story, and appeared on BBC Radio 4, TEDx, The Project, the Soho Theatre and QI with Stephen Fry. He won the award for the Best Local Act at the 2013 Perth International Comedy Festival, and his autobiography, 'I, Migrant' has been nominated for the NSW premier's Literary Award, and the Russell Prize for Humour Writing. Sami produces a weekly podcast, 'Sami Says’ that he records while driving from his country town home, in rural WA, to Perth.
He also writes columns for many publications and is a frequent contributor on ABC720.

All funds raised from this event will go toward ongoing costs of running a free legal clinic for asylum seekers who, due to recent changes in Federal Government policy, are no longer entitled to government funded legal assistance. The free legal clinic is run by The Humanitarian Group, a not-for-profit organisation focussed on empowering vulnerable people by providing professional and accessible migration assistance.
