Folk Troubadour To Tour Australia March 2017

Willie Watson, who captured fans on his 2016 trip down under as part of the fabulous Dave Rawlings Machine, and more recently when he toured with Joshua Hedley, is clearly no stranger to our shores, so it is with delight that Love Police announce that Willie Watson will return to Australia in March 2017.

Watson will play shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Mullumbimby, Fremantle and Perth. Willie will also appear at the Port Fairy Folk Festival.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back to Oz. Some of the most gracious fans I’ve ever had the pleasure of singing to and you guys ruined coffee for me at home.” – Willie Watson

Willie Watson, a singer-songwriter, guitarist, and banjo player who hails from Watkins Glen in upstate New York and was a founding member of Old Crow Medicine Show, one of the most respected bands within the realm of modern Americana. Released in 2014 his debut solo album, Folk Singer Vol. 1, was produced by Dave Rawlings and was described by Rhythms Magazine as “relentlessly riveting” and “Highly recommended” by respected Americana blog Post To Wire. Live, Willie Watson is a must see with his show described by The Music as ”a masterclass of interpretation and performance.”

Opening for Willie in Melbourne, Sydney and Mullumbimby will be Scandinavian folk duo My Bubba who will bring their soft, soulful, sensual music that’s as playful as it is powerful, and their new album ‘Big Bad Good,’ to Australia for the very first time. No Depression Magazine have called them “mesmerizing” and named them as one of the top five not to be missed acts at the recent Americana Music Association Festival.
