Cool Perth Nights Present Willow Beats
Rosemount Hotel
Saturday, December 12

Camel rides through the wild plains of northern India, wading through mud to pick lotuses and chasing exotic peacocks isn’t exactly the first thing that comes to mind when you think of an Australian electronic artist. But this is the world that informs the sounds of Willow Beats – the uncle and niece duo raised in a Hare Krishna community who continue to set the world on fire with their intricate, nature-infused sound explosions.

Cool Perth Nights is stoked to be bringing these mystical NSW noisemakers and Pilerats signees back to Perth for one very special night at the Rosemount Hotel on December 12.

A fixture of Australia’s best festivals, Kalyani Mumtaz and Narayana Johnson recently slayed Splendour in The Grass as well as Victoria’s off-the-grid boutique megabash Strawberry fields.

While singles like Merewif continue to see them hitting the top 5 of Hypemachine, it’s the natural sounds and field recordings that Willow Beats splice into their music that gives this music a thumping heartbeat and dancefloor-filling soul. This real-world touch, coupled with Narayana’s ridiculous production and Kalyanais’ eastern-influenced vocal delivery continues to set them apart from others in the electronic field. They’re the real deal.

***Fun fact - referencing the natural world in song runs in the family: Narayana’s dad wrote Give Me a Home Among the Gum Trees. Actual true story.***

Rounding out this killer lineup are two of Perth’s most exciting producer performers - Leon Osborn and Jamyang. Tunes also from DJ Spresso Martinez.

Tickets are $15 thru here as of 10am Nov 30: rosemounthotel.com.au
