Claudia Rankine is the author of five collections of poetry including Citizen: An American Lyric (a finalist for the 2014 National Book Award and winner of a 2015 NAACP Image Award) and Don't Let Me Be Lonely: An American Lyric. Her play Provenance of Beauty: A South Bronx Travelogue was performed by the Foundry Theater in 2009. Rankine has been awarded fellowships from the Academy of American Poets, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Lannan Foundation. In 2013, she was elected as a chancellor of the Academy of American Poets. She is the Henry G. Lee Professor of English at Pomona College. This event is part of the Temple MFA Creative Writing Program's Poets & Writers Series.
