Metropolitan Gallery 250 is pleased to present (so that I know its you)
A solo show featuring the work of Sarah Coote (www.sarahcoote.com)
(so that I know it’s you), on view March 6th-28th, considers the layers of artifice involved when we package ourselves online. Sarah Coote’s paintings focus on subjects sourced from Tinder profiles, Craigslist missed connections and other platforms that exhibit our desire to connect within a virtual sphere. Expressive gesture decontextualizes users’ identity, inviting a dialogue on our universal experience performing within the spectacle of the Internet.
Sarah Coote lives in Philadelphia and received her BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, Providence RI in 2013. (so that I know it’s you) is Coote’s second solo exhibition at Metro Gallery 250.
