Brown‘s theatrical adaptation of the project entitled The Last Jimmy. Much like Dice’s album – a project inspired by author and civil rights advocate Michelle Alexander‘s book The New Jim Crow – the musical examines the injustices endemic to the American prison system and its effects on poor whites and people of color.
