Fri., Oct. 21, from 7 – 9 p.m., join the conversation on how environmental, biophilic architectural design enhances everyday life. Sit back while this month’s screening of Biophilic Design: The Architecture of Life takes you on a journey of our evolutionary past through history’s most celebrated architecture, all in search of “green architecture” that both decreases environmental impact and enables humans and nature to live together in harmony. The film analyzes excellent examples of biophilic design, from hospitals and schools to office buildings and homes. Biophilic Design: The Architecture of Life will inspire you to seek out healthy and productive habitats surrounded by nature’s finest. Post-film discussion will be led by Vivian Loftness, a professor at Carnegie Mellon University and former Head of the Carnegie Mellon School of Architecture.

Screenings for the Environmental Film Series take place on the third Friday of every month from 7 – 9 p.m. in the Botany Hall Auditorium at Phipps. Attendance to these screenings is free with regular admission, but tickets are required; please pick up your free tickets in the Welcome Center starting at 5 p.m. on the day of the film.
