TechShop Pittsburgh presents Industry Artist Lecture Series 2016 featuring a robust lineup of fourteen local national and internationally exhibiting Pittsburgh artists.

These artists will share a range motives and processes from digital media, installation art, painting, robotics and performance. This is an opportunity open to the public to discover parallels and expansions of concepts within the arts and making.

Lectures run 6:30-8:30pm on the 3rd Monday of every month, starting June-December 2016.

Free and Open to the Public

Ricardo Iammuri

Featuring Ricardo Iammuri and David Bernabo
Ricardo Iamuuri Robinson is a composer, sound recordist and audiovisual artist. His work explores the ancestry of soundbornfromobjectandspace. HeisfounderandownerofSONARCHEOLOGYSTUDIOS,a field recording service dedicated to the production of all things related to sound. The work of SONARCHEOLOGY STUDIOS has been featured in live performances and films including Sustainability Pioneers, funded by the Heinz Foundations; and Translations, partoftheCSASeriesattheNewHazlettTheater. Hisnewestworks,THESTEEL­FONICS is temporary site-­based sound installation at The Carrie Furnaces Nation Historic Landmark. Mars is Underwater, is an audiovisual performance. A silent film accompanied by an original improvisational score. Mars is Underwater has been performed at the Pittsburgh Gallery Crawl and Afronaut(a) 2.0 at Wagman Observatory, with more performances slated for 2015­2016.

David Bernabo

David Bernabo is an active filmmaker, musician, dancer, and visual artist. David currently performs and composes for the band Host Skull, dances and composes for Maree ReMalia | merrygogo and his own variable dance company, MODULES, and acts as the Arts and Culture Editor of The Glassblock. He curates and produces work for the Ongoing Box imprint and co­curates the Lightlab Performance Series with choreographer Taylor Knight. David's recent projects include a four­film documentary series called Food Systems, an art exhibit at SPACE Gallery with Blaine Siegel, and a recent evening­length dance work at New Hazlett Theater for seven movers and one musician called The Reduction.
