San Diego Symphony says
The San Diego Symphony's very first Upright & Grand Piano Festival opens with performances of that most American of piano masterpieces, George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, as interpreted by acclaimed Canadian pianist Marc-André Hamelin. As a special treat, Mr. Hamelin will also play Maurice Ravel's ingenious Piano Concerto for the Left Hand. Dallas Symphony Orchestra's rising young Assistant Conductor Karina Canellakis rounds out the program with rare orchestrated jewels from composers Claude Debussy and Sergei Rachmaninoff.

Karina Canellakis' appearance at these concerts is made possible by Guest Artist Sponsors The Dow Divas.
