With the summer winding down, don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Timken during its extended evening hours. Linger a while longer at the stunning masterpieces. Bring your family and friends and receive a healthy dose of art and culture at Balboa Park’s jewel box museum.

Create your own mural August 19 & August 26; 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.: Don’t miss an opportunity to create your own mural inspired by the Timken s masterpieces. Join artist-in-residence Elizabeth Washburn in painting and reinterpreting the stunning Francisco de Zurbarán’s "Saint Francis in Meditation" on Friday, August 19. Then on Friday, August 26, take a new look at Martin Heade’s "The Magnolia Blossom." Elizabeth brings her years of knowledge and experience to the Timken attendees as she discusses, guides allows you to try your hand at your own masterpiece. The Timken welcomes San Diego to these free evenings of art and self-expression. Cool Art on a Hot August Night is open to all ages and skill levels. No RSVP required.

Casual Dinner in the Park: Make your visit to the Timken even cooler. After embracing your inner artist—don’t leave. Stay a while longer as the Timken invites you to enjoy a variety of food and refreshments. Light dinner, appetizers and desserts are available right outside our front door at Plaza de Panama. And the live entertainment will top an enjoyable evening of art, music and inspiration.
