Memorial Day Murph And Cookout says
On Memorial Day, Crossfitters across the nation perform the hero WOD "MURPH". This WOD was first posted on crossfit.com on August 18, 2005 to honor Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005. The WOD was said to be created by Lt. Murphy himself, who called it "Body Armor", and one he performed often; 1 mile run, 100 Pull Ups, 200 Push Ups, 300 Squats, 1 mile run, all while wearing a 20 pound pack.

CrossFit ATR will be honoring this fallen hero on Monday May 30th at 9:30 am. All CrossFit ATR members, as well as their friends, family and any non-member are welcome to participate in the WOD or just come out to cheer and support. After we will be having a cookout (Grilled Chicken sandwiches, Burgers, Pasta Salad) . We also encourage everyone to bring a dish or drinks to share if they wish!

While not required, we encourage all participants to register at the Murph Challenge website: https://themurphchallenge.com/register/ , where all of the proceeds from your registration go to the The Lt. Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation. Upon registering, you will receive an official 2016 Murph Challenge T-shirt or tank top from Forged to wear the day of the event.
