Nile And The Delta says
Project Atlantis Presents The Shrine 1, a pop-up sacred space dedicated to independent regional art and music. The inaugural Shrine will function as a temporary performance venue and gallery in San Diego’s eclectic North Park neighborhood. Unconventional artists from a spectrum of media and genres will be featured and showcased in a dynamic, art-centric atmosphere, offering attendees the option of purchasing art objects for their own spaces.

The organizers, Nile and The Delta and Nemo Wayfinder, developed The Shrine through searching for avenues to expand their audience and performance options following the release of their debut collaborative album, “Trigger Warning.” In this week-long event, the two integrate their experiential knowledge, pulling from backgrounds in performance, poverty and homelessness, music training and higher education, event organizing, activism and community engagement, and the general pursuit of knowledge with its startling obstacles.

The artists’ unrelenting desire to reach a broader audience springs from their sense of urgency regarding the fatality of oppression and the power of creative expression in the quest for freedom. The equal desire to perform on their terms, in spaces they create and dissemble, is their personal response to the oppressions they are overcoming, and the birthright and ancestral responsibility of their queerness.

Nile and Nemo’s first album “Trigger Warning” is a collection of songs covering subjects ranging from transgender rights to police brutality, calling us to move through our fears with honesty and patience. “Trigger Warning” will be performed every night The Shrine is active.

Other featured artists include The Social Animal, Lillian LeFranc, Rudi Redman, Natalie Lykins, and more to be announced.
