Poway OnStage says
In the 1980s The Smithereens were proud standard-bearers for British Invasion-influenced, guitar-driven, garage rock. Now, The Smithereens pay fitting tribute to the patron saints of garage rock with a set that Rolling Stone calls “an airtight version of The Who’s Tommy.” Your evening with The Smithereens starts with all things Who: highlights from Tommy combined with select hits from the Who’s discography. Act Two is dedicated to the Smithereens and their catalog of rock-radio hits: “Girl Like You,” “Blood and Roses,” “Only a Memory,” “House We Used to Live In” and more. A rare West Coast appearance by New Jersey’s other favorite sons.
