The Musée de l’Elysée presents the photography collection of the canton of Vaud, which was started in 1896 by the pastor Paul-Louis Vionnet. The collection, given to this museum in the 1980s, comprises hundreds of thousands of images which taken together chronicle the beginnings of documentary photography in the local area. This exhibition provides a fascinating insight into the heritage, buildings, countryside and people of canton Vaud since the beginning of photography.
