Lucerne Festival at the Piano

Holger Talinski Lucerne Festival

The annual classical piano festival this year centres on Beethoven.

The annual piano festival organised by Lucerne Festival focuses this year on the work of Beethoven. As ever, established and emerging musicians will come to Lucerne to take part. Norwegian pianist Leif Ove Andsnes joins the Mahler Chamber Orchestra to perform all five of Beethoven’s piano concertos, British pianist Paul Lewis stages Beethoven’s last three piano sonatas and Martin Helmchen tackles the Diabelli Variations. In a fringe event held in bars around town, Piano Off-Stage, various talented jazz pianists will showcase their improv skills in a series of casual concerts.
