Loufmeter

You will never have seen anything quite like it: Bern as a living, breathing fashion show. Central to Loufmeter is a 90-minute parade of 40 models around the Swiss capital’s old town accompanied by a live band. This is a local catwalk on a big scale. The clothes and accessories featured are the work of designers based mainly in Bern, who will present their latest collections, and will also be on hand to greet visitors to a pop-up shop selling their work. It is a great opportunity to try on locally crafted designs while also discovering the ideas behind them. The route the models take is peppered with bars and cafes, providing vital sustenance so you can shop until you drop. Entrance is free and the event takes place no matter what the weather. The fashion show starts at 2pm at Kornhausplatz, but there is a fashion sale and showroom in the Kornhausforum from 11am to 8pm. In case you miss it, don't worry - you can buy the designs at Globus in Spitalgasse from May 28 to June 9.
