Seen by over 120 million people worldwide, translated into 22 languages and adapted into a mega-hit 2012 movie with Anna Hathaway, Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe – Cameron Mackintosh’s acclaimed version of Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg’s musical ‘Les Misérables’ is a genuine global phenomenon. Now audiences in Switzerland have the chance to experience it for the first time in its original English version. Set in an era of unrest and revolution in 19th-century France, the revamped production features scenery inspired by novelist Victor Hugo’s paintings alongside intense emotions, class clashes and familiar poperatic ballads such as ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ and ‘On My Own’.
