Get creative with your leftovers at this waste-friendly FOOD Zurich event.
More than two million tonnes of food waste is created in Switzerland every year. Among it are large quantities of fruit and vegetables, thrown out not because they’re off but because they don’t look quite right. Ever seen a crooked cucumber in your local Migros? Now, FOOD Zurich is offering the waste-conscious a chance to learn how to whip up waste and leftovers into delicious dishes. Live music will provide entertainment as the Slow Food Youth team cook up a tasty meal using waste vegetables. Children will have the chance to try their hand at bartending at the apple press, and there will be an exhibition about food waste.
