Port Willunga Beach

No list of Adelaide attractions is complete without a shot of Port Willunga Beach and its famous pylon remnants sticking out of the surf, which is all that marks the location of the town's jetty that once docked grain ships. The long, sweeping beach is located along the Fleurieu Peninsula, which juts out below Adelaide like a prominent chin pointing towards Kangaroo Island. To the north, nearby Maslin Beach might have the honour of being the country's first legal nudist beach, but Port Willunga has the historic appeal of caves carved into the stone by fisher people of times past and the visible ruins of an 19th century cargo ship. It also boasts the famous, fancy seafood restaurant the Star of Greece, named after the wrecked vessel.
