La Capital Tacos

A trailblazer in Montréal’s Mexican food scene, La Capital Tacos is a taste of Geoffrey Emiliano Moreau’s journey, shaped by a childhood spanning Monterrey and Tijuana. Since 2018, he has channelled those roots into organic Sonoran-style wheat tortillas, alongside memories of the coastal town of Rosarito, which inspired a signature taco now enshrined as a house specialty. One of the first in the city to serve al pastor shaved directly from the trompo, Moreau prepares corn the traditional way each day through nixtamalization—an ancient process that brings out its full flavour and nutritional value. Stone-ground, pressed, and made fresh to order, each tortilla—whether wheat or corn—topped with braised meats or roasted vegetables delivers an authentic taste of Mexico in the heart of Montréal.
