Even in a city with several thousand takoyaki joints, Dotonbori’s eternally popular Creo-Ru stands out. The boisterous eatery has made a name for itself with faultless fare, scale – it’s got a whopping 140 seats – and picture-perfect views of the Dotonbori canal from the counter seats on the second floor.
At their Time Out Market outpost, the octopus-ball bosses offer a number of all-new takes on the quintessential Osaka dish – including takoyaki with porcini sauce and parmesan – plus voluminous lunch specials like a mapo eggplant yakisoba set (¥1,300, comes with rice, soup and green tea).
