The ancient tradition of wassailing - blessing apple trees in midwinter - is re-appropriated for an urban setting in this procession, led by storyteller Rachel Rose Reid and other local talents including PoetCurious and Jean-Marc Pierson, from Willesden Green Underground station to Willesden Library. Those taking part learn an adaptation of an ancient wassail song, which is chanted along the route. The procession culminates with a song by the apple trees planted at Willesden Green Library Centre, before heading inside where cake and hot drinks are for sale. Meet at Willesden Green tube.
