Elisabeth Blanchet: Prefabs - Palaces for the People

In 1943, the British Government invested in a solution to the housing crisis during the Second World War. The first 'Portal Prototype' was displayed at the Tate in1944. This multimedia exhibition by photographer Blanchet, presents the adoration for the steel bungalow that was only ever supposed to last fifteen years.
