Francesco Vezzoli: Eternal Kiss

With the aid of a team of archaeologists, Vezzoli will restore two Ancient Roman heads to their former glory. The Italian artist who studied at Central St Martin’s often appropriates the visual language of media and films, recreating iconic moments in popular culture with famous faces likes Courtney Love and Helen Mirren to consider our preoccupation with persona and beauty. In this sparse installation, two life-size Roman portraits are locked in an amorous embrace.
