The Fashion Illustration Gallery presents this exhibition of vibrant portraits of starlets that graced the covers of Andy Warhol’s Interview Magazine. A common misunderstanding was that the Pop Art maestro created the covers, but it was in fact Berstein that gave the magazine its distinct look with Warhol saying “Richard Bernstein’s faces are wonderful. They’re so colourful and he makes everyone look so famous.” Using his unique style of reworking photographs, Bernstein immortalized superstars of the 70s and 80s including Mick Jagger, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Diane Keating and Susan Sarandon and encapsulated Warhol’s fixation on fame.
