There’s a focus on quality ale at this dinky Victorian boozer between Wandsworth and Putney – it’s even got a gong from Camra to prove it. It’s not all about the booze though - expect decent food, cocktails, wines and a bunch of special events, too.

The beer list goes big on Harvey’s, with Sussex Best, Old Ale, Wild Hop, Armada and seasonal guests on rotation, plus continental lagers, Guinness and Thatcher’s Gold on draught. A solid selection of whiskies and bourbons should keep those partial to a wee dram happy.

The regularly changing food menu ranges from small plates of sausage rolls with homemade piccalilli or cheese and onion tartlets to larger plates of smoked chorizo and avocado salad, roast beef and ale pie or penne pasta with a homemade rocket and parmesan pesto. Cheeseboards and charcuterie platters are available, too.

I called into the nearby Cat's Back again on Friday after work for a cheeky few. The bar is small, unpretentious and it has a really relaxed atmosphere. Not tried the food, but would really like to - decent prices and looks really appetising. The clientele is mixed to say the least, but the staff are friendly, and helpful. Some great ales on tap too - it's worth checking out. They have a film club every Wednesday, which I believe is free to attend - definitely going to check that out - the price is right, as they say.

Oh well what else can I say was here again last night after a few months off and it did not dissapoint great food as always.

My partner had the joypuree vegatsble which was specially made for her as she wanted something with lots of flavour. I had the chicken tikka naga which was hot but again different to my partners dish so it was really nice blend.

The service was great as last time and the staff make sure each dish has a personal touch ranging from the starters right up to the deserts.

Keep up the good work guys will defiantly be visiting again next time in London.

This is a great pub that does one of the best roasts on a Sunday I have had in a long time. The best bit is they charge £11 for a pork roast with crackling, loads of veg (and I mean LOADS), roast potatoes and yorkshire puddings which is amazing value considering a pub down the road charges £17 for just pork and potatoes!!!! Staff are really nice and it's no longer just full of staring locals which is a plus!
