The draught beers alone may justify the trek to Harringay for this popular spot. George Gale HSB, Fuller’s London Pride, Discovery and Honey Dew, Belgian Palm, Rothaus, Leffe and two varieties of Litovel from the Czech Republic.
Bottled, the world’s your oyster: Chimays of all colours, Erdinger, St Helier pear cider. Then again, there’s room to stack a warehouse-load behind the oval bar counter.
There’s food too: thin-crust pizzas, salads and homemade burgers. Once you get stuck into the jukebox (Pet Sounds, Sticky Fingers, The Gram Parsons Anthology) or the regular music in another barn-like side room, leaving becomes a problem.
Monday is quiz night, when the jukebox is out of operation.
