After a little refit in spring 2010, this upmarket brasserie is busy nearly every mealtime, a Belgravia clientele venturing towards Victoria coach station in order to partake in roast rack and braised shoulder of lamb, and a pumpkin, spinach and pine nut wellington.

The Sunday roasts are worthy of a Waitrose TV ad, but you’ll pay £27 for the 28-day-aged fillet from the Castle of Mey estate in Caithness. The layout of the main bar lends itself more to dining, but you can drink there.

A 30-strong wine selection includes a dozen at around £6.50 a glass (Levin Wines sauvignon blanc from the Loire Valley, De Alto Rioja) or £22 a bottle. Cocktails include a Basil Fawlty (Belvedere vodka, apple juice, passionfruit and own-made ginger syrup). You’ll find Asahi and Bitburger among the bottled beers, plus Deuchars and Adnams on tap.

Thomas Cubitt says
Welcome to The Thomas Cubitt Public House & Dining Rooms, honouring London's legendary master builder. We are a local favourite in one of London's most distinguished and picturesque neighbourhoods.

Enjoy a fine ale, an expertly crafted cocktail or perhaps tuck into a rare-breed beef burger in the buzzy atmosphere of the ground floor bar. The classic interior features open fireplaces, wooden floors, detailed panelling and a solid oak bar. Full floor-to-ceiling glass doors open out onto Elizabeth Street during warmer months.

Relax in privacy and enjoy a British menu featuring fine seasonal produce in our bright and elegant first floor dining rooms. A fine wine list focusing on Champagne, aromatic whites and reds complement the dishes perfectly. To make a reservation please call 020 7730 6060.

Whether it's a three course business lunch or drinks and canapés for 120 guests, we have the perfect space for any private celebration.

Trust our events team to tailor a unique experience to your every requirement. Contact marine@cubitthouse.co.uk or telephone 020 7034 5422.

We are open over the Christmas period! For any enquiries, call us on 020 7730 6060.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Amazing place, very versatile too. Perfect for a nice, relaxed drinks/lunch & dinner on the more casual Ground Floor and for a more special/formal meal on the upstairs lovely dining room.

The first of the renowned Cubitt House Group, I always try and dine here if I’m in the area. Like all their restaurants this place is pure class whilst still chilled out enough to meet friends for a feed. Upstairs are more formal settings for that important meeting or special anniversary. Don’t be surprised if you bump into a celeb or two either as it has become a dwelling place for some of London’s A listers. Try their bloody Mary (it is heaven) and their Sunday Roast!!

By far the most outstanding restaurant in London! Atmosphere is brilliant, food is incredible, and the staff are polite and friendly. Very well priced. Love this place!
