Apples & Pears

Brick Lane

This slick little bar at the Aldgate end of Brick Lane hosts club nights, live acoustic music, comedy, film screenings and variety events. There's a cute little garden area too, though it can get busy come summertime.

It's mostly about the cocktails here. Options range from an eponymous house number (made from Russian Standard Platinum vodka, lemongrass, cloudy apple, garama masala caramel and Angostura bitters) to their take on a bloody mary - here called a 'bloody marley'. It's got a jerk kick, from Levi Roots' Reggae Reggae sauce.

There's a short wine list too, as well as Blue Moon, Hoxton Stout, Bethnal Pale Ale, Brick Lane Lager and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale catering to the beer hounds.

A neighbourhood cocktail bar in east London.

Late night music. Heated garden. Private hire.

We are a neighbourhood cocktail bar in east London, serving up well crafted cocktails whilst introducing colourful flavours and ingredients. We are located just minutes from Aldgate East tube station with close proximity to Brick Lane, Shoreditch and Spitalfields.

We have aimed to create a cocktail bar where you can escape from the hustle, where you can meet new people and enjoy well crafted drinks in a social environment. We pride ourselves on our social and friendly atmosphere, our varied music styles and a team that makes excellent cocktails.

Our music programme is eclectic and lively, spinning records from funk, old school hip hop, disco, motown, soul at the weekends and during the week, live acoustic sessions and live music. We also offer retro cocktail specials for £6 from 5pm to 8pm daily.

Food can be ordered from Oi Hanoi and we offer canapés and bowl food.

We have two floors: a lounge bar with a centre piece skylight bar and a late-night basement bar with brick-vaulted ceiling which is available for private hire. Both bars have access to a heated garden.

The Man on the Street

What a great find. Small bar at what used to be considered the wrong end of Brick Lane. No more ! This is absolutely the right place to be. Friendly staff buzzing atmosphere and last night (at Wham Bam Thank You Mam ) 4 awesome female acoustic guitarists. The headliner - Emily Lee was a showstopper. If the stage had been raised a little to improve sight-lines this would have got 5 stars all the way.

Great little bar, with a lively upstairs, and intimate basement with a more clubby feel. Hosts lots of cool independent nights from smaller promoters. Well worth a look!
