LAB was created in 1999, which makes it a granddaddy in London’s cool bar scene. But it shows no signs of decline: the quality is consistent visit after visit. They’ve always had a very long cocktail list, 90-plus, and some drinks get a bit clever for their own good. But mostly they are grounded in LAB’s core principle: understanding and perfecting cocktail fundamentals. The Soho Lady, one of their own creations, is a tall sour based on gin, with Aperol and fresh raspberries, served over crushed ice with a top of fizzy wine. Classic. Standard drinks are always perfect, and the bartenders love talking to customers who need help figuring out what to order. Noise levels are high, but no higher than in comparable places. You can book tables downstairs, and it’s sensible to do so. Prices remain very low for the quality and the area. Great drinks, low prices, unfailing consistency – what more can you ask for?

LAB says
Originally a training school for bartenders (The London Academy of Bartending, 1996-1999), we've since created and hosted some of London's most creative bartenders resulting in one of the biggest and most unique cocktail menus, with cocktails like the porn star martini, founded and created at LAB.

I came here the other week with a colleague; had a brilliant time. The cocktail menu is huge - there's so much to choose from. We ended up getting a few rounds, so we could experiment with the drinks we had. The bar is really cool and the staff are very friendly and helpful with recommendations

LAB is pretty fun, with an interesting (and HUGE) menu that had drinks living up to their names. It's definitely on the pricey side though, but if you're around in Soho, it's a nice central area for mates to hang out and have a FEW drinks, before you tell yourself 'maybe it's time to head to a nice pub instead'.

There is nothing wrong with this bar! But it is also nothing special!

The service was slow and the wifi wasn't working but the drinks were good and so was the music they were playing.

The atmosphere was good even for early evening and their cocktail menu is extensive (there are SO many that I wanted to try). They also have a happy hour every day which I will go back to check out!

Overall not a bad place to stop for a few cocktails however there are nicer places in Soho.

Be careful as there is a minimum card spend of £10.

The most delicious cocktails in soho. They really need to do a refurb though - the interior really doesn't match with what the drinks are like!

I always enjoy coming here for the amazing and very reasonably priced drinks. There is a huge range and the staff are very happy to help you find one that you'll enjoy.

Great place! The drinks are dreamy and the atmosphere is fun and delightful (meaning a few lookers around). The space is quite small so I wouldn't go with a large crowd but for a night out with about, at a max, 4 friends this is a great spot. Also a good pre-drinks location to really get the night started on a high!
