Hidden gem... great atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food (try the ribs...)

Great pub with fun, friendly staff. Good selection of ales and the 'world famous' sunday roast deserves it's title - you get a huge meal for under a tenner, which is more than can be said for most other pubs in London. If you live in the area, it makes for a fantastic local

I agree with 'Clarkie'. The sunday roast here is excellent. I have sampled sunday roasts in many of the pubs in highgate (The Victoria, The Wrestlers etc) and even at the Landseer down the road, but the roast here is the best I have had. The gravy really is so delicious and you get so much for your money. Well worth it - please don't change! Other than that, the other food I have sampled has always been fantastic and they are very friendly here.

I was dragged here, expecting a mediocre, at best, Sunday roast. What I actually got was the best Sunday roast pork I have ever sampled in a pub, including some of the best 'gastro' pubs in London. The gravy alone was amazing and as for the Yorkshire puds (bigger than my head). There is nothing more annoying and satisfying than being proved entirely wrong about a place. Don't let the immediate surroundings of the area put you off. This place is a gem and at £10 per person, I cannot fault it.
