London's best review, food and drink news
The Ladbroke is well known for its floral displays (the beer garden at the front is wildly colourful) and - until it turned into a gastropub - as the drinking den of choice for local coppers. The balance has shifted firmly towards food these days (with a smart dining section at the rear and a wine list to match) but it's still popular with low-key middle-aged locals who pop in for a pint (Doom Bar from Cornwall's Sharp's brewery, say, or Adnams Broadside) and who appreciate the well-upholstered, carpeted interior and the efficient air-conditioning.
