Bars & Pubs

  • Rake

  • We awarded this compact drinking den the Best Bar prize in the Time Out Eating and Drinking Awards 2007, and we’re still taken by the mind-boggling array of beers sourced and sold. The layout consists solely of a small, unremarkable room and a heated patio, attesting to the fact that this bar doesn’t pretend to be much more than a comfortable extension of the Utobeer stall in nearby Borough Market. Six taps are connected to a different draft each week and there are more than 100 bottled beers to pontificate over. Wines and cocktails aren’t the thing here; snacks run to crisps and pork pies.

Don't bother with this place on a Friday night if you actually want to get served.
It's impossible to get near the bar to get served, and even when you are within range the staff are more interested in talking to each other than serving you.
If you're thirsty, go somewhere else.
