Bars & Pubs

  • Salisbury Hotel

  • Harringay’s most imposing building, this Victorian beer palace has been spruced up rather than made over, the better to show off the vast, high-ceilinged rooms, glorious wooden bar, stained glass, statues and other fancies, without alienating the geezers who rub shoulders with the grungey-ish newer punters. Beers are mainly from Fuller’s, with Litovel lagers on draught and many more in bottles; food is quality pub-grub. Live acts, in another spacious room, are a staple: bands, comedy and more.

I must admit that I am slightly biased seeing as I worked here for about 7 months, but the Salisbury is without doubt the best pub in the area.
There is a true community here, and an astounding array of themed nights to suit everybody's tastes (including ska, jazz and rock nights, and lessons in Lindyhop and Salsa dancing)
EVERYONE should check this place out, especially on the last friday of each month which is the Salisbury Circus: a night of DJs, bands and possibly a clown if you get lucky.
