The Somers Town Coffee House is a huge place, imbued with a French sensibility. It's divided in two - a spacious front bar, and a restaurant - with additional space on the front terrace, in the back garden and in the rear room (complete with fireplace).
Nothing seems too much trouble for the excellent staff, whether you're here for food or simply a drink. If you're in the latter category, you'll find ales (Wells Bombardier, Wadworth 6X), lagers (Red Stripe, Kirin Ichiban) and, best of all, a good wine list, organised into descriptive categories by the two sisters from Normandy who are behind the enterprise: 'dense and concentrated red, oak ageing', for example.
Authentic French food runs from fish soup with all the trimmings to magret of duck with orange sauce, golden beetroot and glazed turnips. The bar menu tempts with such savouries as own-made crab beignets with salsa verde.

Found the staff friendly and attentive. Enjoyed a christmas meal here with work and will take friends back next time as it is so easy to get to and meet.
The place may be under new management but you can't tell. Staff are friendly and hard working. Spent a good few hours in there, sans harassment from your average beer drinking lout. The place is exceptionally clean and tidy, food is good and the music consists of a "hate to admit it but I like this song" set list. A nice break from Costa and Starbucks, lets be honest.
NB The Somers Town Coffee House is under new management, and now serves 'British tapas' food rather than French, so the above review is no longer relevant.
Had a sunday brunch at this place.
interior - clean and polished and family friendly in the typical pub atmosphere.
Service - friendly and quick
Menu - not your typical pub food, but a roast and fish and chips were on the specials board. The menu was along the lines reviewed above.
Food and Drink - No fresh orange juice (at £2.20 this was a bit pricey) Had all the egg options (florentine, etc) these were 6/10. too much salt.
Would I go again? Yes, its a nice break from hectic St Pancras and just around the corner, but unless the food gets better it won't be my local!
