In the posher part of Peckham, the former Wishing Well has had a fair few coins tossed at it, but it's a homely rather than haughty affair. Hunkered around an oak horseshoe bar are high brown suede banquettes, robust wooden tables and worn-out leather armchairs.
The open-plan kitchen turns out traditional pub tucker with a twist: chorizo scotch egg and breaded halloumi sticks for snack or starter, spicy chargrilled chilli squid for a main.
Not many boozers have beer lists as broad as this, with draught Meantime, Adnams, Erdinger and Bonobo (brewed at its sister pub, the Florence), as well as a bevy of bottled beers including Duvel and Brooklyn Lager. Don't be disheartened by the wines on draught (really) from the US and Argentina - for entry-level liquids, they're a decent drop.
