If queues are the benchmark of what’s hot on the London restaurant scene, then somebody ought to call the fire brigade for Hoppers. Luckily, this Sri Lankan small plates and street food savior is well worth the wait, thanks to those eponymous bowl-shaped savoury pancakes, which are primed for tearing and sharing and scooping up curries that are just as unapologetically hot. This is street food at the most fashionable end of the scale, with the egg hopper becoming one of London’s ‘it’ dishes.
