City envy: we want a glow-in-the-dark skate park like Liverpool

Avril Lavigne (may her career rest in peace) would lose her shit over this one: our friends in by the Mersey have just opened the coolest sk8er boi hangout of all time. Evertro, designed by Korean visual artist Koo Jeong-a and commissioned for next year's Liverpool Biennial, is a new skate park with a difference: it glows in the motherflipping dark. Why? Because why not? The concrete structure, which is covered with phosphorescent paint, opened earlier this month just outside the city centre. And while it's also open for use by BMX riders, it's more than just a haunt for teenagers with a death wish: it doubles up as a work of art too. Whether or not you're able to pull off a wicked kickflip or a fakie 360 bluntslide, you have to admit it's a wheely bright idea.

And have you seen these submarine apartments in Dubai?
