We’re rounding up the funnest ways to get fit in London every month, with classes that’ll beat that bulge and make you feel superhuman. Here’s this month’s top five...

Aerial Silks

Hanging from colourful reams of fabric looks like everything you want fitness to be: fun, tough and maybe a bit insane. Get the moves right in Flying Fantastic's mixed ability acrobatic class and not only will you blast every muscle in your body, but we can bet snaps of you voguing in the air will get you a lot of love on the Instagram #doitforthelikes.

Date: Tuesdays (6.30pm), Thursdays (7.40pm) and Wednesdays (11am).

Length: One hour.

Cost: £22 (£17 with bulk bookings).

Booking: www.flyingfantastic.co.uk

Rumble at 1Rebel

 Rumble

Have you heard of 1Rebel yet? It’s that swanky studio that opened in the City a year ago – you know, the one that could pass for a nightclub except the bar’s booze-free and the highs come courtesy of your endorphins? They’ve now launched a second branch in Broadgate which includes their new Rumble class – a cardio boxing and mixed martial arts session for those who appreciate that if it doesn’t hurt, it’s not working. This is gonna hurt. But if there’s any consolation, you get a free smoothie after the lunchtime session. Cheers, pain!

Date: Daily (times vary).

Length: 45 minutes.

Cost: £10 (for the first session).

Joe Plimmer at Polepeople Studios

  Express pole class

Strippers know that a nine-foot pole doesn’t just deliver a hefty salary. It’s brutal on the abs and a proven way to get that sexy back, in more ways than one. The drop-in class at Polepeople is aimed at those who want to tone up, lose weight and gain confidence. You'll also get to learn a routine, so with enough practice, you should be able to lock down those slithery moves like a boss.

Date: Monday–Thursday, 5.30-9pm.

Length: One hour.

Cost: £12.

Push at The Hox

 Push

A three-hour boot camp from the lady that trains Bear Grylls is likely to be as brutal as it sounds, but there’s nothing to fear here: Push only wants what’s good for you. This jam-packed morning session at the Hoxton Holborn from fit guru Natalie Summers includes HIIT training, boxing, circuits and yoga with plenty of snack and drinks to keep you happy. And at the end of the sweat-fest, Natalie will send you off with an inspirational talk on how to live better. Why? Because you’re worth it, champ.

Date: October 10.

Length: Four hours (9am–1pm).

Cost: £50.

Disco Barre

It’s disco. It’s ballet. And it shouldn’t make sense, but it does – especially as the combo of funky footwork and the discipline of barre is guaranteed to put a working on those core muscles. Taking place at The Refinery in East London, the session will have tunes from party-popping funk to old school anthems on rotation, so give it a whirl and burn that blubber down.

Date: Tuesdays (7pm), Wednesdays (1.30pm), Thursdays (6pm) and Fridays (1.30pm).

Length: One hour.

Cost: £12.
