Earlier this year, Shoreditch arts venue Rich Mix announced it was under threat because of demands from the council to come up with a lump sum of cash that would have bankrupted it. Rich Mix is one of London's top arts venues, hosting over 650 events every year - a third of which are free. Naturally, Londoners weren't too happy about the plans to shut it down, so they launched a petition on Change.org back in March, which has since received over 17,000 signatures. And now they've announced that the dispute with Tower Hamlets council has been resolved, which means Rich Mix has officially been saved! And just in time for its tenth birthday next year, too.
