London's about to get even more polluted thanks to a Saharan dust cloud

All this sunny weather is great, isn't it? We can finally ditch our winter coats and spend our evenings hanging out in beer gardens – life is sweet. But apparently it comes with a catch. The warm weather has triggered a smog alert thanks to a Saharan dust cloud that's wafted its way over to the capital.

The super-strength smog is expected to last for the next four days. Defra, which issues official pollution warnings, has advised that people with lung or heart problems should avoid strenuous, outdoor activity, and folks who suffer from asthma may be reaching for their inhalers more often. Is it too much to ask that we could just enjoy the sunshine without a Saharan dust cloud hanging over us all weekend?
