Miss England 30, salon educator at Coco de Mer.

What's a typical day like for you?

‘I come into work prepared for anything. I work on the shop floor and also give two classes: “Pleasing the Petals”, which is a female pleasure class, and “Tricks and Tips”, which is how to use toys and bondage and make the most of them. There’s a lot of homework required, but this kind of homework is really fun so there’s no complaining there.’

What led you to this job?

‘I studied fashion design and discovered Coco De Mer because they had the most exquisite corsets. I had no idea what anything else in the shop was but I wanted to discover this beautiful world.’

How did you begin your sex ed?

‘I’ve been interested in this world for a really long time, so I read a lot of old erotic literature. There was also a lot of self-play. It’s best not to rely on others to find all the pleasures that your body can create.’

What's the best part of your job?

‘Being able to educate people and seeing them walk away happy or having them come back saying, “Oh my God, the thing you advised me to get was amazing.” And for myself, the amount that I have grown and how the things I’m learning benefit me –exploring your sexuality boosts your confidence a lot.’

What's the most awkward thing that has happened at work?

‘Probably when I’m showing somebody a toy with lube and it sprays all over the customer: that’s pretty awkward. Oh and somebody asking me if I wanted to join them in the fitting room: I had to call the police with that guy.’

British people can be so uptight. How do you lose your inhibitions?

‘Don’t worry about what other people think. You don’t need to scream in the street that you’ve tried anal, but if that’s something you want to try, it’s beautiful. Forget what anyone says and be in control of your own pleasure.’
