London's finally getting some sunshine, which is good news for everyone, unless you happen to be on one of the new Routemaster buses. These sauna-like vehicles have been known to reach more than 30 degrees, but that's all about to change because the buses are finally getting windows that actually open. Hooray!

Sadiq Khan confirmed at Mayor's Question Time earlier this week that work had started on the upgrade in April and will be finished in September, which means you'll have to put up with the heat for one more sweaty summer. But if openable windows aren't enough to learn to love the new Routemasters, you'll be pleased to hear that Sadiq isn't planning to roll out any more of them. Instead, he wants to give a London a bus fleet that's 'greener, more affordable and more functional than the "new" Routemasters.' Just make sure the bloody windows open, yeah?

Sadiq has also promised to launch a one-hour 'hopper' bus ticket in September

And in other transport news, you might soon be able to get pizza delivered to London bus stops
