There's a new tube map to show us how many steps there are between each station

What with the introduction of the night tube we could spend all hours of the day sailing up and down the Underground. So in an attempt to encourage us to spend some time stretching our legs, TfL has made a tube map that shows the number of steps between stations in Zones 1 and 2.

This new version gives us an indication of how much closer we can get to that elusive 10,000 steps a day if we hop off a stop or two early. In this baking weather it doesn't sound too unappealing to wander 400 steps between central stations like Leicester Square and Covent Garden rather than sweltering on a packed tube.

You can download the map from today for your step-counting pleasure at tfl.gov.uk/walking.
