A free award ceremony, celebrating the 2012 Royal Society Winton Prize for Science Books – i.e. those magnificent pieces of writing which explain how things work to those of us who haven't solved an equation since school. Past winners include Gavin Pretor-Pinney and Bill Bryson. Seating is allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
