One of my favourite parks in London. The paths are perfect for running, roller skating and cycling and there are so many activities - kart rental, Battersea Park children's zoo, rowing boat and pedalo rental - and things to see (fountains, pagodas, parakeets!) that however often you go back you will probably always find something new. There's also an athletic track for the more intensive athletes which you can pay for per session as well as a new treetop adventure playground which seems to be appearing in the SW corner (stay posted...!). Battersea park is one of my running venues but this weekend we went just to explore. We bought the Battersea Park Treasure Trail (from the Treasure trail website) and did a little treasure hunt around the park which lasted a couple of hours. Treasure Trails are a great way to discover new details and facts about a place - I now know that there are Henry Moore and Babara Hepworth sculptures in the park, that there is a walled English garden and a small memorial to the vivisection of dogs... If you've got a free afternoon. Try it out!
